Where to Eat Brunch in New York City

September 16, 2019

Best Brunch New York City

Well, what do you do when you are in New York City? Ok, let's rephrase this question! Between indulging in things to explore and do in NYC, do you need to satiate your hungry growling tummy? So when hunger calls, you need to quickly crash into a place which will calm your tummy {well, of course} and also offer a panoramic view of the city and let you feel the gastronomic soul of NYC. And if it's a bit late for breakfast and too early for lunch, what are the places that you should head to for a brunch, let us chalk that out.

Bubby's

Bubby’s lives up to all the hype. Many people including myself site Bubby’s as the best pancakes they have ever had. Bubby’s is open 24hrs and even has a midnight brunch. Just in case you have been hankering for sour cream pancakes they got you covered. If you are looking for some simple comfort food and want to devour some pancake of your choice or indulge in a hearty soup or pick a chicken meal, they have got it all. Regulars here also highly recommend the homemade sodas! You will find the fabulous menu here.

Cookshop

Cookshop is located right across from the Highline and has an abundance of tables outside. Reservations are hard to come by and even if you have one there is always a wait. I recommend you start with the ricotta beignet and try moving to the huevos rancheros. You could choose the healthy green juice and pair it up with a 100% Grass-Fed Beef Burger or just try the fresh Zucchini Frittata, guaranteed yummy and made with fresh ingredients only. Appetite tickling? Then check the menu here.

Best Brunch in New York

Westville

Westville is the NYC staple for brunch. It is always good and they have tons of options so it’s great for a crowd. You can’t go wrong with any place that serves Avocado toast. It's clearly short on space but still has people queuing up for the Chronic Brunch. You are spoilt for choice here, whether it's the salads with watercress, pears, roasted walnuts, grilled chicken, bleu cheese in it or a pick from the market menu, your tummy will be very happy with this experience.

Jack’s Wife Freda

The showstopper at this quaint eatery is the grilled poached eggs. They have the best ever homemade hot sauce. If you can, I suggest you go on a weekday. The best location is Carmine St because they have the most seating. Be it the Madame Freda {pressed sandwich with duck prosciutto} or the Green Shakshuka {baked eggs in a green tomatillo shakshuka} or the Cantaloupe Mimosa, you are in for a gastronomic surprise. Check the Soho location menu here.

Lafayette

Are you looking for an authentic French bistro right in the heart of NYC downtown? Look no further than Lafayette. With its Egg White Frittata, the Lemon Pancakes with fresh berries or the Brisket Burger, the Lafayette is armed with a brunch menu that will impress you all. Here's the tummy growling menu, check for yourself and decide which one you want.

Best Brunch Manhattan

Citizens of Chelsea

People, are you looking for a quintessential Australian brunch and coffee experience? Citizens of Chelsea is your place to be then! What to drool over here? The Avocado toast of course and with toppings like pumpkin seeds, beet hummus, pickled onions! Don't stop there, you have a whole gamut of options like Brekkie Sandwich {fried eggs, sharp cheddar, smoked bacon, lemon aioli} or the Belgian Waffle. Does that make you feel hungry? Well, get the details of the fantastic menu here. With its teal-colored coffee cups and subtle yet bright decor, this place is definitely up on the brunch places to visit.

Baar Baar

Well, this is a brunching experience for you to remember. This hotspot offers an Indian gastronomic journey like no other. Baar Baar {that's in a language called Hindi} means, again and again, basically meaning eat and repeat. This upscale spot puts forth a modernized version of authentic Indian delicacies. Drool over the Traditional Butter Chicken or Lamb Kebab Burger or choose from the Prix-Fix Brunch options for one or two, this place will leave you satisfied and your tummy happy! The delicious menu is up here.
